Regular Season Round 9: Faenza - Pistoia 70-64

Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Pistoia (4-4) was defeated on the road by third ranked Faenza (6-2) 70-64 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Faenza outrebounded Pistoia 38-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard Licia Schwienbacher (170-95) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Center Serena Soglia (186-0) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Faenza's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Veronica Perini (175-88) who recorded 13 points and 6 rebounds and forward Carolina Pappalardo (184-96) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Faenza maintains third place in A2 with 6-2 record having just two points less than leader Moncalieri. Loser Pistoia dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Faenza will face Cagliari V. (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pistoia will play against Livorno and hope to win that game.
