Very predictable result when second ranked ASEFA Estudiantes (7-1) rolled over 10th ranked Barakaldo (3-5) in Madrid 85-57 on Saturday. ASEFA Estudiantes forced 19 Barakaldo turnovers and outrebounded them 35-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Barakaldo's players. American guard Judy Jones (175-90, college: GCU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Forward Gracia Alonso-de-Armino (180-92, college: Freed-Hardeman) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four ASEFA Estudiantes players scored in double figures. Power forward Patricia Soler (186-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and guard Marta Perez (178-94, agency: Best of You Sports) added 11 points and 4 assists in the effort for Barakaldo. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. ASEFA Estudiantes have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group A with 7-1 record having just three points less than leader GDKO Bizkaia. Newly promoted Barakaldo dropped to the ninth place with five games lost. ASEFA Estudiantes will face league's leader GDKO Bizkaia in Galdakao in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Barakaldo will play at home against Patatas Hijolusa (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
