Everything went according to plan in San Martino di L where fourth ranked San Martino (6-1) beat 12th ranked Bologna (1-6) 78-72 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. American swingman Angie Bjorklund (183-89, college: Tennessee) fired 35 points (!!!) for the winners. Lithuanian Egle Sulciute (190-85) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Spanish point guard Angela Salvadores (178-97, college: Duke) produced 23 points and 4 assists (made all of her nine free throws !!!) and Croatian forward Ana-Marija Begic (190-94) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Bologna players scored in double figures. San Martino keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Bologna lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh place with six games lost. They share the position with Palermo and Torino. San Martino will meet Lucca (#5) on the road in the next round.
