Regular Season Round 9: United - Bullets 108-94

There was no surprise in Melbourne where 5th ranked Bullets (5-6) were defeated by third ranked United (7-4) 108-94 on Sunday. United made 27-of-31 free shots (87.1 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Melo Trimble (190-95, college: Maryland) who scored 25 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). International guard Mitchell McCarron (189-92, college: MSU Denver) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Lamar Patterson (196-91, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Pensack Sports) who recorded 14 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international guard Jason Cadee (186-91) added 18 points respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. United have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain third place with 7-4 record having just three points less than leader Kings. Loser Bullets keep the fifth position with six games lost. United will face league's leader Kings in Sydney in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bullets will play at home against Melbourne Phoenix (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
