Regular Season Round 18: Toyoda Gosei - Tokyo CR 85-60

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Toyoda Gosei (14-4) crushed 10th ranked Tokyo CR (5-14) in Aichi 85-60 on Sunday. Toyoda Gosei dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo CR's 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American forward JD Weatherspoon (198-92, college: Toledo) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and point guard Eiji Sumihiro (171-89) supported him with 16 points and 6 assists. Four Toyoda Gosei players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds by American center Joshua Crawford (211-88, college: Indiana St.) did not help to save the game for Tokyo CR. His fellow American import forward Chris Olivier (203-92, college: Oklahoma St.) added 14 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyoda Gosei have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Iwate Big Bulls. Tokyo CR lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 14 games lost. Toyoda Gosei will meet Kanazawa (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tokyo CR will play against the league's leader Iwate Big Bulls and hope to secure a win.
