Very expected game in Syktyvkar where 13th ranked Latvian Liepaja/LSSS (1-4) was crushed by ninth ranked Russian Nika (3-2) 94-68. Nika outrebounded Liepaja/LSSS 45-33 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Liepaja/LSSS's players. The winners were led by forward Julia Poluyanova (187-92) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and forward Ekaterina Ryabova (181-93) supported her with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Nika's coach felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 20 points and 5 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) by guard Katrina Trankale (173-2) did not help to save the game for Liepaja/LSSS. Forward Ruta Veidere (186-94) added 13 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Nika moved-up to fifth place. Liepaja/LSSS at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. They share it with Dynamo M.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
