There was no surprise when 8th ranked L'Alfas (1-8) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Jairis (6-4) 82-71 on Sunday. Jairis made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game, while L'Alfas only scored two points from the stripe. Forward Antonio Ferragut (196-94) scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Romeo Smith (201-95, college: Missouri Valley) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Jairis players scored in double figures. Jairis' coach Pepe Llorente let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side Senegalese center Mouhamed Sow (209-1) responded with 8 points and 20 rebounds and Artem Yailo scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Jairis moved-up to third place in Group E-B. L'Alfas lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with eight games lost. Jairis will face Aldaia (#7) on the road in the next round. L'Alfas will play against Calpe and hope to win that game.
