Regular Season Round 10: Valls Nutrion - Palma 2 88-76

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Palma II (3-7) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Valls Nutrion (6-4) 88-76 on Sunday. Valls Nutrion dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Palma II's 34. They outrebounded Palma II 47-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. Valls Nutrion looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Palma II's players. Roger Riu (198-89) scored 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Victor Vinos (193-97) chipped in 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Valls Nutrion players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Joan Reda (187-94) responded with 22 points and guard Joan Clar (185-98) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Valls Nutrion moved-up to fifth place in Group C-B, which they share with Cornella and Salou. Loser Palma II stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Valls Nutrion will face higher ranked Mollet (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Palma II will play against Olivar (#14) and hope to win that game.
