Regular Season Round 8: Aris - Peristeri GS 72-59

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Peristeri GS (6-2) against thirteenth ranked Aris (3-6) on Sunday night. Visiting Peristeri GS was defeated by Aris in Thessaloniki 72-59. The game was mostly controlled by Aris. Peristeri GS was better in second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aris dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Peristeri GS's 32. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of international point guard Lefteris Bochoridis (193-94) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and Montenegrin forward Vladimir Dragicevic (206-86) who added 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Angolan center Yanick Moreira (211-91, college: SMU, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 8 points and 5 rebounds and American swingman Brayon Blake (201-95, college: Idaho) scored 10 points. Peristeri GS's coach Ilias Zouros rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Aris moved-up to eleventh place. Peristeri GS at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with Promitheas. Aris will play against Rethymno (#13) on the road in the next round. Peristeri GS will have a break next round.
