Everything could happen in Yingkou at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Flying Leopards and 9th ranked Royal Fighters had identical 5-3 record. This time Flying Leopards used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Beijing 111-105 on Sunday night. Flying Leopards looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Royal Fighters were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American swingman Lance Stephenson (196-90, college: Cincinnati) who scored 30 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Brandon Bass (203-85, college: LSU) chipped in 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Kyle Fogg (190-90, college: Arizona) who recorded 30 points and 7 assists and Palestinian center Sani Sakakini (204-88) added 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively. Four Flying Leopards and five Royal Fighters players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Flying Leopards. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Royal Fighters lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with four games lost. Flying Leopards will face Brave Dragons (#8) in Taiyuan in the next round. Royal Fighters' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beijing Beijing Ducks.
