There was a surprise result in Guangzhou where sixteenth ranked Long-Lions (3-6) beat higher ranked Sharks (4-5) 119-113 on Sunday. Long-Lions made 23-of-24 free shots (95.8 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Long-Lions made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American point guard Keifer Sykes (183-93, college: Green Bay, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 50 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 5 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Taiwanese point guard Ying-Chun Chen (183-93) chipped in 19 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Lithuanian power forward Donatas Motiejunas (213-90) who recorded a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and American guard James Nunnally (201-90, college: UCSB) added 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Four Long-Lions and five Sharks players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Long-Lions maintains sixteenth place with 3-6 record. Loser Sharks keep the tenth position with five games lost. Long-Lions will face Gold Lions (#17) in Tianjin in the next round.
