Regular Season Round 18: Iwate Big Bulls - Shizuoka 96-63

B3 League top team - Iwate Big Bulls (14-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Shizuoka (8-8) 96-63. Iwate Big Bulls dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Shizuoka's 20. They outrebounded Shizuoka 49-26 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Iwate Big Bulls players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Shizuoka's players. American Justin Herold (203-91, college: Sonoma St.) had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Kohei Kawashima (170-98) chipped in 22 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Iwate Big Bulls' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Beninese forward Muusa Dama (206-95, college: EIU, agency: Blacktop Management) with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Roschon Prince (198-94, college: Detroit Mercy) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Iwate Big Bulls have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 14-4 record, which they share with Toyoda Gosei. Shizuoka lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth place with eight games lost. Iwate Big Bulls will play against Tokyo CR (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shizuoka will play against Saga B. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
