Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Palermo GB (6-3) outscored on the road 8th ranked Cecina (5-5) 78-56 on Sunday. Naturalized Brazilian forward Bruno Duranti (197-93) scored 29 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Tommaso Minoli (188-94) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four Palermo GB players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Vincenzo Guaiana (192-0) responded with 10 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Leonardo Salvadori (198-93, agency: Players Group) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Palermo GB maintains fifth position in B with 6-3 record. Loser Cecina dropped to the seventh place with five games lost. Palermo GB will face Lucca (#10) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Cecina will play against USE Basket in Empoli and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
