Regular Season Round 6: Panathinaikos - Giannena 83-65

Date: November 24, 2019
There was no surprise in Athens where 9th ranked Giannena (2-4) was defeated by fourth ranked Panathinaikos (4-2) 83-65 on Sunday. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Morgan Pullins (183-93, college: St.Mary's, TX, agency: Two Points) had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Samantha Mackay (174-91, college: Dayton, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Acheil Tac (188-93, college: N.Texas) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and guard Brandy Montgomery (178-95, college: Auburn) scored 14 points and 5 assists. Five Panathinaikos and four Giannena players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Panathinaikos have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Chania. Giannena at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Panathinaikos will meet Kronos AD (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Giannena will play against PAOK (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
