Regular Season Round 10: Cantu - Fortitudo BO 82-84
Date: November 24, 2019
A very close game took place in Cantu between Fortitudo BO and Cantu. Eighth ranked Fortitudo BO (6-4) got a very close victory on the road over 14th ranked Cantu (3-6). Fortitudo BO managed to escape with a 2-point win 84-82 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Fortitudo BO made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. The former international Pietro Aradori (194-88) notched 23 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and Canadian guard Kassius Robertson (191-94, college: Missouri) supported him with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Five Fortitudo BO players scored in double figures. Even 29 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all five shots) by American forward Jason Burnell (201-97, college: Jacksonville St.) did not help to save the game for Cantu. His fellow American import guard Corban Collins (190-94, college: Alabama) added 13 points for lost side. Cantu's coach Cesare Pancotto rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fortitudo BO moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Brescia and Milano. Cantu lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with six games lost. Fortitudo BO will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cantu will play against the league's leader Virtus BO (#1) in Bologna and hope to secure a win.
