Date: November 25, 2019
A1 top team - Panathinaikos (9-0) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Iraklis (3-5) in Athens 130-81. The game without a history. Panathinaikos outrebounded Iraklis 40-16 including a 29-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 21 long-distance shots on high 61.8 percentage. Panathinaikos looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Iraklis' players. The winners were led by American guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) who scored that evening 24 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the former international Nikos Pappas (194-90, agency: Network Sports International) supported him with 12 points and 10 assists. Even 24 points and 4 assists by Canadian guard Olivier Hanlan (193-93, college: Boston Coll., agency: Wasserman) did not help to save the game for Iraklis. American forward Alex Davis (206-92, college: Fresno St.) added 11 points for the guests. Five Panathinaikos and four Iraklis players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panathinaikos have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 9-0 record. Iraklis lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth place with five games lost. They share the position with PAOK. Panathinaikos will meet Kolossos HH (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Iraklis will play against Lavrio and hope to secure a win.
