Regular Season Round 16: BC Nokia - Kauhajoki 81-72

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Kauhajoki (10-6) against seventh ranked BC Nokia (8-6) on Tuesday night. Visiting Kauhajoki was defeated by BC Nokia in a tough game in Nokia 72-81. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Kauhajoki. The hosts were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 20-17 Kauhajoki's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 81-72 at the end of the game. Holland is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. At the losing side American forward Evan Yates (198-91, college: Ashland) responded with 13 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Cameron Jones (193-89, college: NAU) scored 11 points and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BC Nokia moved-up to fourth place. Defending champion Kauhajoki keeps the third position with six games lost. BC Nokia will play against Kobrat (#11) in Lapua in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kauhajoki will play at home against the league's second-placed Vilpas (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
