Everything could happen in Shanghai at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Leopards and 10th ranked Sharks had identical 4-5 record. But Sharks were not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Shenzhen 99-95 on Tuesday night. Leopards made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Sharks were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. The other American import Shabazz Muhammad (198-92, college: UCLA) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Lithuanian power forward Donatas Motiejunas (213-90) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and American guard James Nunnally (201-90, college: UCSB) added 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Sharks. Four Leopards and five Sharks players scored in double figures. Sharks' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Leopards have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Jiangsu D. and Beijing RF. Sharks lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with six games lost. Leopards will face higher ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#3) in Hangzhou in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sharks will play on the road against Golden Stars (#15) in Jinan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
