Regular Season Round 10: HyPo - PeKa 71-93

Bottom-ranked HyPo (0-10) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 93-71 loss to second ranked Peli-Karhut (9-1) in Hyvinkaa. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. HyPo was ahead by 7 points at the halftime before a 60-31 second half run of Peli-Karhut. They made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Zykira Lewis (173-94, college: UCF, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import guard Tiasha Gray (170-94, college: Austin Peay) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Four Peli-Karhut players scored in double figures. Point guard Meri Damoiseaux (161-1) replied with 29 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian power forward Kristina Baltic (188-90) added 18 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for HyPo. Peli-Karhut have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 9-1 record behind leader Kouvot. HyPo at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost. Peli-Karhut will play against league's leader Kouvottaret in Kouvola in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. HyPo will play on the road against Forssan Alku (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
