A very interesting game took place in Jinjiang. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 17th ranked Sturgeons (2-8) to twelfth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (5-5) 127-126 on Wednesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Jiangsu Dragons made 33-of-37 charity shots (89.2 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. 35 personal fouls committed by Sturgeons helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St.) fired 42 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Serbian center Miroslav Raduljica (213-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. Jiangsu Dragons' coach Mehmed Becirovic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard Ty Lawson (180-87, college: UNC) produced 37 points (!!!) and 9 assists and the former international Zhelin Wang (214-94) added 24 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Jiangsu Dragons and four Sturgeons players scored in double figures. Jiangsu Dragons moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Shenzhen L. and Beijing RF. Sturgeons lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with eight games lost. Jiangsu Dragons' next round opponent will be higher ranked Jilin Tigers (#4) in Changchun and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sturgeons will play on the road against the league's leader Guandong Tigers (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
