Regular Season Round 10: Espoo Team - ToPo 84-78

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Espoo Team's (6-4) home victory over 6th ranked Torpan Pojat (4-6) 84-78. It looked good early as Torpan Pojat took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Espoo Team had a 27-14 second period charge getting the lead and Torpan Pojat was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 78-84. Espoo Team made 26-of-33 charity shots (78.8 percent) during the game. Espoo Team outrebounded Torpan Pojat 54-34 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian forward Carly Boag (188-95, college: Minot St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 26 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of her nine free throws !!!). American forward Hannah Little (186-94, college: Oakland) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. American guard Alex Louin (183-96, college: Villanova, agency: Promo Sport ID) replied with 29 points and 9 rebounds (made all of her eleven free throws !!!) and forward Magdalene Agyei (176-99) added 6 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Torpan Pojat. Torpan Pojat's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Espoo Team have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Catz. Torpan Pojat lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Honka. Espoo Team will play against Tapiolan Honka (#7) on the road in the next round. Torpan Pojat will play against ViVe and hopes to get back on the winning track.
