Regular Season Round 17: BC Nokia - Kobrat 98-69

The game between fifth ranked BC Nokia (9-8) and 9th ranked Kobrat (6-13) in Nokia on Friday ended with biggest points difference. BC Nokia outscored guests from Lapua 98-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kobrat. BC Nokia dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Kobrat's 28. BC Nokia had a 36-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Stacy Davis (199-94, college: Pepperdine, agency: Slash Sports) nailed 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Tyler Flack (202-93, college: S.Dakota) accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four BC Nokia players scored in double figures. BC Nokia's coach Greg Gibson felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Jussi Turja (194-90) came up with 16 points and the former international point guard Antto Nikkarinen (185-91, agency: Blacktop Management) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Kobrat in the defeat. Despite that victory BC Nokia went down to sixth position due to points difference. Loser Kobrat keeps the ninth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Lahti. BC Nokia will meet league's second-placed Vilpas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kobrat will play against Kouvot (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
