Regular Season Round 9: Stjarnan - KR 110-67

The game between Top Four teams took place in Stjarnan. Third ranked host Stjarnan (7-2) smashed 4th placed KR (5-4) 110-67. The game was mostly controlled by Stjarnan. KR was better in second period 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded KR 49-29 including a 39-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU, agency: Inception Sports) came up with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Bjorn Kristjansson (188-92) added 8 points and 5 assists respectively for KR in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Stjarnan have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Keflavik and Tindastoll. Defending champion KR keeps the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Stjarnan will play against Haukar (#6) in Hafnarfjordur in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. KR's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Reykjavik Valur.
