Regular Season Round 8: Nantes - Evreux 91-73

The game had a very big importance for fourth-ranked Nantes as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (ADA Blois) loss. Nantes defeated 12th ranked ALM Evreux at home 91-73. Nantes forced 19 ALM Evreux turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The winners were led by American swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV, agency: Blacktop Management) who scored that evening 26 points and 6 rebounds and American-Armenian point guard Terry Smith (185-86, college: Mercyhurst) supported him with 23 points and 6 assists. Nantes' coach Jean-Baptiste Lecrosnier allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 24 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) by swingman Paul Rigot (201-95) did not help to save the game for ALM Evreux. American point guard Jerrold Brooks (183-91, college: S.Mississippi) added 12 points and 7 assists for the guests. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 3 other teams. ALM Evreux at the other side dropped to the thirteenth place with five games lost. ALM Evreux will play next round against Provence Basket trying to get back on the winning streak. Nantes will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked SPO Rouen on the road.
