There was an upset in Barcelona where higher ranked Barca II (6-6) was edged by eleventh ranked Pardinyes-L. (4-8) 68-66 on Saturday. Strangely Barca II outrebounded Pardinyes-L. 42-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American swingman Wendell Davis (198-95, college: Ashland, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who scored 20 points and 4 assists. Canadian-Jamaican guard David McCulloch (185, college: McMaster) chipped in 14 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Sergi Martinez (202-99) who recorded 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Senegalese guard El-Hadji Badio (188-99) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Pardinyes-L. maintains eleventh position in Silver with 4-8 record. Loser Barca II keeps the sixth place with six games lost. Pardinyes-L. will face higher ranked Villarrobledo (#7) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
