Regular Season Round 12: Pogon Prudnik - Ksiezak Lowicz 110-83

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Ksiezak Lowicz (7-4) against thirteenth ranked Pogon Prudnik (4-7) on Saturday night. Visiting Ksiezak Lowicz was crushed by Pogon Prudnik in Prudnik 110-83. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Ksiezak Lowicz. Pogon Prudnik made 19-of-21 charity shots (90.5 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Ksiezak Lowicz 36-22 including 29 on the defensive glass. Pogon Prudnik shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a good game for point guard Grzegorz Mordzak (182-77) who led his team to a victory with 33 points (!!!) (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Power forward Marcin Salamonik (202-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Five Pogon Prudnik players scored in double figures. Piotr Robak (194-91) replied with 27 points and Mikolaj Stopierzynski (190-94) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for Ksiezak Lowicz. Ksiezak Lowicz's coach Michal Spychala gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Pogon Prudnik moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Klodzko. Ksiezak Lowicz at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Pogon Prudnik will play against Kotwica (#14) in Kolobrzeg in the next round where they are favorite. Ksiezak Lowicz will play at home against Miasto Szkla (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
