Regular Season Round 6: Angers - Montbrison 61-42

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Montbrison's (3-2) road loss to sixth ranked Angers (2-3) 42-61 on Saturday. Angers held Montbrison to an opponent 23.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 40.4 percent accuracy of the winners. The best player for the winners was American forward Tiffany Clarke (183-91, college: Vanderbilt) who scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Sarah Ousfar (183-93) chipped in 4 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Ukrainian Olga Maznichenko (188-91, agency: LBM Management) who recorded 11 points and 9 rebounds and Estonian power forward Maaja Bratka (190-92, agency: LBM Management) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Angers went down to seventh position due to points difference, which they share with SIG. Loser Montbrison dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Angers will face league's leader Aulnoye on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Montbrison will play against the league's second-placed Reims (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
