Regular Season Round 13: Saint Vallier - Besancon 96-62

Very expected game when 11th ranked Besancon (4-9) was smashed on the road by third ranked Saint Vallier (10-3) 96-62 on Saturday. Saint Vallier looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Besancon was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American forward Demond Watt (200-89, college: Texas A&M-CC) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds. Moroccan forward Karim Gourari (203-89) contributed with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Saint Vallier players scored in double figures. Saint Vallier's coach Arnaud Ricoux felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swiss Nicolas Dos-Santos (200-87) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Jonathan Leria (198-90) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Besancon. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Saint Vallier. They moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Rueil and Cheruy. Loser Besancon keeps the eleventh position with nine games lost. Saint Vallier will face La Charite (#6) at home in the next round. Besancon will play against Orchesien BC (#8) in Orchies and hope to win that game.
