Regular Season Round 8: Olimpi - BC Titebi 71-56

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Tbilisi: Olimpi (#4) and BC Titebi (#6). Olimpi (5-2) won against visiting BC Titebi (3-4) 71-56. The game without a history. Olimpi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Olimpi outrebounded BC Titebi 46-33 including 34 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Akiean Frederick (206-96, college: Kent St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and the former international swingman Kakhaber Jintcharadze (195-93) who added 10 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Olimpi players scored in double figures. American forward Tristin Walley (201-96, college: Arkansas St., agency: One Motive Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized Russian guard Teymuraz Babunashvili (185-90) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olimpi have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Dinamo Tbilisi. BC Titebi lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Olimpi will play against Rustavi (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. BC Titebi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Cactus Tbilisi.
