Regular Season Round 9: Diagoras D. - Olympiacos B 84-88

The game between Top Four teams took place in Athens. Second-best host Diagoras D. (7-2) lost to third ranked Olympiacos B (7-1) 88-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Diagoras D.. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Olympiacos B's coach used entire bench in such tough game. Vaggelis Karaboulas (198-81) came up with 39 points (!!!) (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) and point guard Nikos Liakopoulos (188-83) added 10 points and 7 assists respectively for Diagoras D. in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Olympiacos B have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Diagoras D. at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. Olympiacos B will play against bottom-ranked Napfliou (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Diagoras D. will play against Koroivos (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
