Regular Season Round 9: Karditsas - Apollon P. 65-81

The most interesting game of round 9 in the A2 was a home defeat of 5th ranked Karditsas (5-4) by fourth ranked Apollon P. (6-3) who outscored them by 16 points 81-65 in the game for the fourth place. Apollon P. outrebounded Karditsas 42-26 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Angelos Tsamis (192-81) stepped up and scored 23 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Fotios Zoumpos (194-93) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was guard Panagiotis Ermidis (185-87) with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Dimitris Gravas (203-93) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Apollon P. maintains fourth place with 6-3 record. Karditsas at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Psychiko and Agriniou. Apollon P. are looking forward to face Anatolia (#12) in Thessaloniki in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Karditsas will play on the road against Eleftheroupoli (#13) in Kavalas and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
