The biggest surprise took place in San Vendemiano where host San Vendemiano (10-1) edged league's leader Padova (9-2) 66-64 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Padova. It was a key game for the top position in B. Strangely Padova outrebounded San Vendemiano 45-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Padova helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was point guard Andrea Tassinari (185-96) who scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Jacopo Vedovato (204-95) chipped in 8 points and 10 rebounds. Four San Vendemiano players scored in double figures. San Vendemiano's coach Marco Mian used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Swingman Michele Ferrari (196-86) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and center Ivan Morgillo (206-92, agency: Players Group) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. San Vendemiano keeps a position of B leader. Padova at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Bernareggio. They were replaced at the leadership position by Benedetto CE. Padova will play next round against Corona Platina trying to make it back to the top of the standings. San Vendemiano will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Omnia Basket in Pavia.
