Winner League top team - Maccabi T-A (7-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they beat sixth ranked Maccabi Haifa (3-4) 93-75. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Maccabi Haifa. Maccabi T-A dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Maccabi Haifa's 32. American forward Quincy Acy (201-90, college: Baylor) fired 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Liberian-American center Othello Hunter (203-86, college: Ohio St., agency: David Lee Services) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Venezuelan point guard Gregory Vargas (180-86, agency: Pro Sports) produced 12 points and 8 assists and American swingman James Young (198-95, college: Kentucky) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Maccabi T-A and five Maccabi Haifa players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Maccabi T-A have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 7-0 record. Newly promoted Maccabi Haifa keeps the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Nes-Ziona. Maccabi T-A will meet Ironi Nahariya (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maccabi Haifa will play against Hapoel Tel-Aviv and hope to secure a win.
