Regular Season Round 11: Stal SW - AZS UJK Kielce 59-102

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Stal SW (0-10) was outleveled by seventh ranked AZS UJK Kielce (6-4) in Stalowa Wola 102-59 on Saturday. AZS UJK Kielce dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Stal SW's 32 and made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Stal SW 44-30 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. AZS UJK Kielce looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Stal SW's players. Forward Marcel Kapuscinski (199-97) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Michal Szwedo (200-97) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five AZS UJK Kielce players scored in double figures. Guard Aleksander Jadas (192-1) answered with 11 points and 8 rebounds and Bartlomiej Tarczynski (185-98) added 14 points in the effort for Stal SW. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. AZS UJK Kielce moved-up to sixth place in Group B. Stal SW lost their tenth game in a row. They still close the standings with ten games lost. AZS UJK Kielce will face higher ranked AZS Start II (#3) in Lublin in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Stal SW will play on the road against the league's leader Radom II (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
