The game in Krakow was also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked AZS UMCS (5-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Wisla Krakow (3-4). AZS UMCS did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 70-52. The game was mostly controlled by AZS UMCS. Wisla Krakow was better in third quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Wisla Krakow 42-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. The winners were led by point guard Alexis Peterson (173-95, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) who scored that evening 20 points and 7 rebounds and center Briana Day (193-95, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 8 points and 12 rebounds. AZS UMCS's coach Krzysztof Szewczyk allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 17 points, 7 assists and 6 steals by point guard Chloe Wells (173-92, college: Duke) did not help to save the game for Wisla Krakow. Center Krystal Vaughn (185-86, college: VCU) added 17 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. AZS UMCS moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Gorzow Wlkp. and Sleza Wroclaw. Wisla Krakow at the other side dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. AZS UMCS's next round opponent will be Sleza Wroclaw (#4) at home. Wisla Krakow will play against Politechnika Gdanska (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
