Very expected game when 11th ranked Flammes (1-6) lost on the road to third ranked Lyon (5-2) 89-79 on Saturday. Lyon shot 62.3 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. Lyon looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for international point guard Marine Johannes (174-95) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized Serbian Lidija Turcinovic (176-94) accounted for 20 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Mali center Djene Diawara (192-85) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and international Nwal-Endene Miyem (188-88) added 23 points respectively for Flammes in the defeat. Five Lyon and four Flammes players scored in double figures. Lyon have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Flammes lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. They share it with Nantes and Charnay. Lyon will meet at home Hainaut (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Flammes will play against the league's second-placed Roche and hope to win that game.
