Regular Season Round 8: Mark - Visby 91-75

Bottom-ranked Visby Ladies (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 91-75 loss to ninth ranked Mark (2-6) in Kinna on Sunday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Mark. Visby Ladies managed to win fourth quarter 27-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mark dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Visby Ladies' 30. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Cierra Johnson (175, college: UT Arlington) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Shay Burnett (175-96, college: Elon) who added 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Mark players scored in double figures. Mark's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Alexa Middleton (175-95, college: Iowa St.) responded with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and center Jonna Raflund (191-94, college: Lindenwood) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Mark maintains ninth position with 2-6 record. Loser Visby Ladies still closes the standings with seven games lost. Mark will meet Uppsala (#10) on the road in the next round. Visby Ladies will have a break next round.
