Regular Season Round 7: Kronos AD - Panathinaikos 48-55

Very expected game when 11th ranked Kronos AD (2-5) lost at home to fourth ranked Panathinaikos (5-2) 55-48 on Sunday. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Samantha Mackay (174-91, college: Dayton, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners and scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Her fellow American import center Jewel Tunstull (190-92, college: Northeastern, agency: Two Points) accounted for 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Canadian-Italian power forward Melissa Rondinelli (184-91, college: Western) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds and international forward Eleni Bosgana (193-3) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Kronos AD in the defeat. Kronos AD's coach Giorgos Roumbelakis tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Panathinaikos. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Eleutheria M. and Chania. Kronos AD lost their third game in a row. Kronos AD at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with Esperides and Niki Lefkadas. Panathinaikos will meet at home bottom-ranked Melissia (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kronos AD will play against PAOK in Thessaloniki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
