Regular Season Round 7: Giannena - PAOK 75-64

There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Giannena (3-4) beat at home higher ranked PAOK (3-4) 75-64 on Sunday. They outrebounded PAOK 43-27 including a 35-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Acheil Tac (188-93, college: N.Texas) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists. Her fellow American import guard Sierra Calhoun (183-96, college: Rutgers) accounted for 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. The former international guard Lolita Lymoura (180-85) came up with 9 points and 12 assists and American forward Alexyz Vaioletama (185-93, college: USC) added 14 points respectively for PAOK in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Giannena moved-up to sixth place, which they share with PAOK and Dafni Agioy. Giannena will meet league's second-placed Chania on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. PAOK will play against Kronos AD (#11) and hope to secure a win.
