There was an upset when higher ranked Lecco (6-5) was defeated at home by fifteenth ranked Mestre (3-8) 72-68 on Sunday. Mestre forced 23 Lecco turnovers and outrebounded them 39-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. Lecco was plagued by 33 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was forward Marco Lazzaro (198-92) who scored 28 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Croatian Dorde Malbasa (196-95, agency: SPORTlab Agency) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds.
