There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Derthona TRT (6-5) edged 6th ranked Blu Basket TVG (5-5) in Treviglio 72-69 on Sunday. Derthona TRT dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Blu Basket TVG's 20. Latvian Andrejs Grazulis (202-93) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Bruno Mascolo (190-96, agency: Players Group) contributed with 11 points and 6 assists for the winners. American forward A.J. Pacher (208-92, college: Wright St.) answered with 22 points and 8 rebounds and Mattia Palumbo (196-0) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Blu Basket TVG. Derthona TRT moved-up to seventh place in A2. Loser Blu Basket TVG dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Derthona TRT will face higher ranked Latina Basket (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Blu Basket TVG will play against Eurobasket RO (#13) and hope to win that game.
