Regular Season Round 12: ASVEL - Le Portel 94-69

Jeep ELITE ProA top team - ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (12-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifteenth ranked Le Portel (3-9) 94-69. They outrebounded Le Portel 37-25 including a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Le Portel was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a quality performance of Belgian center Ismael Bako (208-95) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Edwin Jackson (190-89, agency: BeoBasket) who added 16 points during the contest. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket's coach Zvezdan Mitrovic felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American power forward Franklin Hassell (205-88, college: ODU) with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import guard DAngelo Harrison (193-93, college: St.John's) scored 10 points. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 12-0 record. Le Portel at the other side dropped to the bottom place with nine games lost. They share the position with Roanne and Chalon. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket will play against league's second-placed Levallois on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Le Portel will play against Le Mans (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
