Regular Season Round 10: Valencia - Bembibre 56-53

Thirteenth-ranked Socinsa Bembibre (2-8) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Valencia (7-3). Valencia managed to secure only three-point victory 56-53. However their fans expected much easier game. Valencia players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The former international forward Tamara Abalde (190-89) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the former international swingman Queralt Casas (177-92) supported her with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Valencia's coach Ruben Burgos used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds by American center Ije Ajemba (185-95, college: UNCG) did not help to save the game for Socinsa Bembibre. Her fellow American import guard Brooke Salas (180, college: N.Mexico St.) added 9 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Valencia moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Clarinos. Socinsa Bembibre at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Valencia's next round opponent will be Cadi La Seu (#6) in Seu D'urgell. Socinsa Bembibre will play at home against Zamarat (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
