Regular Season Round 8: Kalmar - Eskilstuna 122-74

Rather expected game when 7th ranked Eskilstuna (3-4) was rolled over on the road by fifth ranked Kalmar (4-2) 122-74 on Sunday. Kalmar dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Eskilstuna's 44. Kalmar forced 30 Eskilstuna turnovers and outrebounded them 38-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. Kalmar looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Eskilstuna's players. The best player for the winners was Slovenian Jan Tratnik (190-89) who had a triple-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 13 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field). Guard Kasper Hagberg (185-98) chipped in 36 points (!!!), 6 assists and 5 steals. Four Kalmar players scored in double figures. Spanish guard Julian Lopez (187-94) produced 15 points and guard Henrik Aronsson (183-95) added 11 points respectively for the guests. Eskilstuna's coach already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Kalmar moved-up to third place in South, which they share with Talje. Loser Eskilstuna keeps the seventh position with four games lost. Kalmar will have a break next round. Eskilstuna will play at home against Hammarby (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
