Regular Season Round 11: Almozara - Martorell 69-72

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Martorell (6-5) edged on the road 14th ranked Almozara (2-9) 72-69 on Sunday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Martorell made 8 blocks. Almozara was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Nil Bria (195-97) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Guard Xavier Balaguer (188-94) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Cesar Hidalgo (188-80) produced 11 points and 5 rebounds and Alvaro Torrecillas (196-93) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Martorell moved-up to sixth place in Group C-A. Almozara lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
