Rather predictable result in Vizcaya where eighth ranked Patatas Hijolusa (5-4) smashed 10th ranked Barakaldo (3-6) 83-50 on Sunday. They outrebounded Barakaldo 41-24 including a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Argentinian Andrea Boquete (183-90) stepped up and scored 18 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and guard Patricia Benet (174-88) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Five Patatas Hijolusa players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Patricia Soler (186-94) with 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Mali center Gnere Dembele (186-0) scored 9 points. Barakaldo's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Patatas Hijolusa moved-up to seventh place in Group A, which they share with Leganes. Newly promoted Barakaldo keeps the tenth position with six games lost. Patatas Hijolusa will face league's leader GDKO Bizkaia in Galdakao in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Barakaldo will play on the road against Iraurgi (#9) in Azkoitia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
