Regular Season Round 40: New York K. - Boston C. 104-113

Date: December 1, 2019
Rather predictable result in New York City where third ranked Celtics (14-5) defeated 5th ranked Knicks (4-16) 113-104 on Sunday. Celtics looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Celtics made 7 blocks. Knicks were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Jayson Tatum (203-98, college: Duke) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Jaylen Brown (201-96, college: California) who added 28 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Julius Randle (206-94, college: Kentucky) responded with 26 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Dennis Smith-Jr (190-97, college: NC State) scored 17 points and 7 assists. Five Celtics and four Knicks players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Celtics keep a position of league leader, which they share with Miami Heat. Knicks lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 16 games lost. Celtics will have a break next day. Knicks will play on the road against the league's leader Bucks (#1) in Milwaukee and hope to win that game.
