Regular Season Round 10: Zamarat - Clarinos 94-98

There was no surprise in Zamora where 14th ranked Zamarat (1-9) was defeated by fourth ranked Clarinos (7-3) 98-94 on Sunday. Clarinos forced 22 Zamarat turnovers. Strangely Zamarat outrebounded Clarinos 49-37 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Zamarat was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Lyndra Littles-Weaver (185-87, college: Virginia) fired 28 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The other American import guard Tanaya Atkinson (183-96, college: Temple) chipped in 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Clarinos players scored in double figures. American guard Brittany McPhee (183-96, college: Stanford) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and Canadian center Quinn Urbaniak-Dornstauder (193-95, college: ASU) added 22 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks respectively for lost side. Zamarat's coach Fran Garcia let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Clarinos maintains fourth position with 7-3 record, which they share with Valencia. Zamarat lost ninth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. Clarinos will face league's leader Argon Uni Girona at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Zamarat will play against Socinsa Bembibre (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
