Regular Season Round 11: Valencia 2 - Lliria 70-85

No shocking result in a game when first ranked Lliria (8-1) defeated on the road 3rd placed Valencia-2 (6-3) 85-70 on Sunday. Lliria dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Valencia-2's 36. Lliria forced 19 Valencia-2 turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Josep Peris (192-0) who scored 23 points and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Forward Marco Alejo (194-0) chipped in 19 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Power forward Alejandro Rivas (203-98) produced 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Guillem Ferrando (184-2) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Valencia-2 players scored in double figures. Valencia-2's coach let to play eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Lliria. They maintain first place in Group E-A with 8-1 record. Loser Valencia-2 dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Lliria will face Tabernes (#5) in Tabernes Blanques in the next round. Valencia-2 will play at home against the league's second-placed Castello II and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
