No shocking result in a game when third ranked Deportivo Valdivia (7-4) beat on the road bottom-ranked Quilicura (0-9) 83-68 on Monday. Deportivo Valdivia looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Quilicura was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Argentinian center Ignacio Alessio (203-87) who led his team to a victory with 28 points. American guard Rashad Madden (196-92, college: Arkansas) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American forward Timothy Simmons (195-92, college: DBU, agency: Prestige Sports) replied with 21 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import Trevon Young (198-95, college: Eckerd) added 20 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Quilicura. Quilicura's coach rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with CD Castro. Loser Quilicura still closes the standings with nine games lost. Deportivo Valdivia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Valdivia Las Animas.
